LETCHER COUNTY, Ky (EKB News/Letcher County Community News-Press) – Police in Letcher County are on Haymond Hill near Neon where the Letcher County Community News-Press is reporting a body has been found.

The paper reports that police believe the body is that of Ricky Gibson, who according to court documents, was shot and killed during an altercation in the bathroom of a home on Welch Hollow.

EKB News reports that 38-year-old Clifford Jermaine Caudill, of Welch Hollow in Neon, and Dedra Anne Keathley, 50, of Joes Creek in Pike County, were arrested and charged with the murder of Ricky Gibson and with hiding his body.

According to court documents, Caudill and Keathley were interviewed by detectives at KSP Post 13 in Hazard in relation to the case. EKB said that those documents stated Keathley was uncooperative, but Caudill provided information on the case. Caudill told detectives that an altercation happened in his bathroom between Caudill, Ricky Gibson, and two others, one of whom Caudill identified as Keathley. The altercation resulted in the shooting death of Gibson.

The documents said that Caudill, Keathley, and another person, took Gibson’s body away from the scene to conceal the alleged murder.

Caudill and Keathley were charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence and they have been lodged in the Letcher County Jail.
