LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – Police are responding to a double shooting on Cross Keys Road.
Multiple police and ambulances are on scene at an apartment complex. Nearby James Lane Allen Elementary is on heightened alert. The school is within walking distance of the scene.
A police officer was in the area and heard the shots. The two people shot are expected to be okay. Two suspects are on the run and K-9 units have arrived.
Officers do not believe this shooting was random and there was an altercation prior to the shots being fired.
