Mother Nature is not cooperating this Derby weekend. A slow tracking cold front will spike shower & storm chances and once they get going it’ll be hard to shake. Much of your Friday will be mostly cloudy and quiet with a better chance for showers and storms this evening and overnight. The severe storm threat is low but we may see a few storms capable of damaging wind and heavy rain.

That front will hang up over southeastern counties Saturday extending the threat for scattered showers and a few storms mainly in the Bluegrass and southeast. Highs will stay generally in the 70s this weekend.

A ray of hope for Derby-goers… Louisville may catch an afternoon break. Remember- no umbrellas at Churchill!
