LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – Cadaver dogs were brought out Tuesday to help search for a missing Lincoln County woman.
April Neikirk has been missing since April 25 from the Highland/Waynesburg area. Tuesday morning, search crews arrived with four cadaver dogs. Although they can’t say for certain, emergency leaders believe a murder may have happened.
A drone had been sent up previously to take photos of the landscape before the dogs were sent out.
The search came to an end around 10 a.m. The dogs did not find anything and will move to different locations in the following days.
If you know anything about April Neikirk’s whereabouts, you are asked to contact police.
The Sheriff says the search will continue in other areas in upcoming days. If you know anything about where April Neikirk may be or what happened to her, you’re asked to call the Sheriff’s Office. @LEX18News pic.twitter.com/mxPnfRRC1R
