LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A potentially suspicious item reported by TSA halted flights at the Blue Grass Airport on Wednesday morning.

Officials with the airport say flights were delayed for about an hour from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m.

They had to re-screen all of the bags and resumed flights around 6:40 a.m. There is no word on what the item was or how many flights were impacted.

TSA has released a statement regarding the incident:

A TSA baggage screening officer at Blue Grass Airport (LEX) noticed that an image presented on a machine did not match a bag pulled for additional screening.

TSA quickly corrected the problem, and in an overabundance of caution, worked with the airport to hold flights and rescreen bags before allowing them to proceed.

TSA apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the temporary delay.
