WAYNE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYM)– Four EMS workers are recovering after authorities say they were exposed to toxic levels of insecticide.
The Wayne County Emergency Management director says it happened around 6 p.m. Tuesday night at an apartment complex near the courthouse in Monticello.
Two ambulances were called to the scene, looking for a man who was having trouble breathing, when the EMS workers suddenly became sick and had trouble breathing themselves.
Investigators believe a bug bomb may have caused their illness.
We’re told the EMS workers were not able to find the man who was the subject of the initial call.
