LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– One person was taken to the hospital following a fiery crash Wednesday evening.
It happened around 5:25 p.m. on I-75, approximately 9 miles south of London.
The investigating deputy reports that apparently a 2017 gray colored Chevrolet Malibu was southbound on I-75 when the vehicle left the roadway, striking the median cable barrier. Officials say when the driver exited the vehicle, it caught fire and destroyed the vehicle.
The driver was identified as Norma Lee Smith, 49, of Corbin, transported to a local hospital for treatment of possible injuries.
