LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Officials with Blue Grass Airport said Sunday morning that most flights are on schedule, a day after a plane coming in from Atlanta veered off the runway into a grassy area.

Airport officials confirmed Saturday that Delta Flight 3359 skidded off the runway into a grassy area.

Reportedly, all passengers aboard the flight are safe, with some saying that they had to be rescued from mud.

Blue Grass Airport tweeted that inbound and outbound flights were affected, making it advisable to check flight status before heading to the airport.

Twitter user @Rontao13 talked with LEX 18, saying the plane drove into a ditch after skidding off the runway, and that is was very scary. He also tweeted that the pilot did a fantastic job making sure they didn’t hit nearby trees.
