HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Kentucky State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Harlan County that left one man dead on Sunday.

Reportedly troopers were called to a home on Country Estates Road in the Baxter community at about 2:45p.m.

KSP says Bradley J. Grant, 36, of Baxter ran into the home when troopers arrived so they followed him. Reportedly as troopers went inside they were confronted by Grant who had a shotgun and started approaching them.

KSP reports Grant did not follow several verbal commands to drop his weapon, so one of the troopers shot Grant.

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Reportedly neither of troopers were injured during the incident.

Both troopers have been placed on administrative leave per standard procedure.

The shooting is under investigation.
