LESLIE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Kentucky State Police investigators are searching for a man who robbed a bank Monday afternoon.

Troopers and Detectives responded to a call from Hyden Citizens Bank in the Hurts Creek Shopping Center shortly before 1 p.m. Monday for a report that it had been robbed.

Upon arrival at the scene, investigators determined that an unidentified man walked into the bank and presented a note to a teller demanding money.  The teller complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the assailant.  The man exited the bank and was last seen walking across the parking lot of the shopping center.  Troopers were unable to locate the suspect in the area.

The perpetrator is described as being a white male who is between 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds.  He was last seen wearing a dark ball cap, long sleeved navy blue sweat shirt and light blue colored jeans.  Witnesses advised that the man was wearing sun glasses and had scruffy-looking facial hair that appeared to be a mix of dark and white hair.
