METCALFE COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) A man died in a single-vehicle crash on the Cumberland Parkway Monday.
The crash happened around 12:55 p.m. near the 35 mile marker.
KSP said that 48-year-old Paul Edward Smith of Hot Springs Nagarland, AR was driving a 2011 Freightliner, travelling east on the parkway. For an unknown reason, he travelled through the median and across the westbound lanes where he hit a guardrail and rock embankment.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
