CLARK COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18/Winchester Sun)–  An employee of Clark County who was accused of writing 29 fraudulent checks and depositing them into her personal account has been fired, according to the Winchester Sun.

Sheriff’s officials began investigating after checks allegedly written by Jennifer Paige Adkins were deposited into her personal account beginning in December 2016. According to her criminal complaint, investigators believe Adkins wrote 29 checks, 17 of which had forged signatures.

Adkins was an employee of Clark County Emergency Management and was the only person with access to the checking account for the local emergency planning committee.

The Clark County Fiscal Court voted Wednesday to terminate Adkins.
