POWELL COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) A Powell County man accused of killing a man with a hammer and then living with the body in his apartment has been sentenced for a lesser charge.
Police said that Jeremiah Vaught hit 22-year-old Josh Ross in the head with a hammer. Vaught was arrested in October and charged with murder, evidence tampering and abuse of a corpse.
He’s also charged with trying to hide the hammer and a knife.
His murder charge was downgraded to manslaughter, which he’ll serve ten years for the charges.
