DETROIT, MI (LEX 18/WDIV) – A Lexington family is driving to Detroit to possibly identify its son after two men shot and killed each other over a woman Thursday morning.

Phillip Hudson’s family members are praying everything they heard about this morning isn’t true.

"I heard a bunch of gunshots, and then I waited a minute and I heard the police sirens," said one woman who lived nearby the shooting.

Hudson’s sister said it’s likely he was one of the two men who shot and killed each other at this gas station this morning.

Detroit Police described the victims as a 25-year-old man and a 39-year-old man who were having a dispute about a woman.

The 25-year-old was the woman’s boyfriend. The 39-year-old, identified as Martez Fenderson by family, was an ex-boyfriend.

"He wasn’t in the streets, he worked. he worked hard and loved to ride his bikes, he wasn’t ever in the streets like that," said Davida Gray, Fenderson’s sister.

Hudson’s sister said he grew up in Lexington and has three daughters.
