WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) Several gravestones at a Whitley County cemetery have been knocked over or broken.
The Whitley County Sheriff’s Department needs the public’s help to find out who vandalized the cemetery.
Workers at Rose Creek Cemetery in Gatliff discovered that 25-30 grave markers had been knocked over or broken last week. Residents tell LEX 18 that they work hard to keep the cemetery in good condition and no one should go there and destroy other people’s property.
"They need to pay for what they tore up. They need to be responsible for, and they need to take whatever is given to them," said resident Darrell Griffith.
