The remnants of Alberto will track across western Kentucky over the next 24 to 48 hours. We face two threats- heavy rain and strong storms. The heaviest rain 2"-3"+ will swamp western Kentucky. The Bluegrass & eastern counties will be closer to 1"-2". A flash flood watch for our western counties is in effect Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning.

With any tropical system you also need to watch for strong storms- especially on the eastern side of the low. Strong to borderline severe storms will be possible Tuesday afternoon/evening and again Wednesday although the threat will be shifting north into Ohio & Indiana tomorrow. Damaging wind gusts and weak rotation (isolated tornadoes) will be possible.
