LEX 18 Digital: Nicholasville Family Searches For Missing Peacock

Posted

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Nicholasville is asking for help to find their pet peacock after it went missing on Saturday morning.

The peacock, named Omlet, has lived on Gene Hall’s farm since he was born five years ago, Hall said.

Omlet can often be found sitting on its favorite spot on the roof or even knocking at the back door for food, he said.

"When he gets hungry he’ll come peck on the glass door and if you give him something he don’t like, he’ll come back and peck until you give him hostess," Hall said. "Hostess is his favorite food."

The peacock has been spotted multiple places around Nicholasville, he said, but when they’ve tried to approach him, Omlet has run off.

"I honestly think somebody picked him up and took him into town," he said, "either he got away or they got scared and turned him loose."

The last place Omlet was seen is about five miles from Hall’s home, he said. He doesn’t believe the peacock would have strayed that far on his own.

Now Hall is asking anyone who spots the peacock to call him at 859-489-1442.

"He’s not used to being around that many people," he said. "Just please help us get him home that’s all I ask."
