ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – It’s an exciting time of year for high school seniors, but some teens in Anderson County are outraged by the postponement of their graduation.

A last minute change due to inclement weather means the class will not be graduating together.

Seniors were supposed to graduate at the Kentucky State Expo Center last night, but Anderson County schools decided to postpone the ceremony because of the storms that rolled through last night.

Officials announced last night on Facebook that they would be hosting the graduation at the high school tonight, but the venue wasn’t the only thing to change.

The first ceremony will be held at 6 in the evening followed by a second ceremony at 8. The students will graduate in two groups divided by their last names.

Many of the students expressed frustration to LEX 18 and on social media. However, some were happy to be graduating at all.

"I honestly feel grateful the way we’re graduating tomorrow, because some kids wake up and they don’t get to graduate," Brianna Melton told LEX 18.
