BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (WLWT)– An arrest has been made in connection with the fatal shooting of a Northern Kentucky mother and her 9-year-old son.
Kelli Kramer, 31, and her son, Aiden, were found inside their Burlington apartment March 20 with gunshot wounds to their heads and torsos.
Officials with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Joshua Ward on Thursday in connection with the slayings.
WLWT is reporting that Ward was involved in an intimate relationship with Kelli that began in December 2016 and ended abruptly in May 2017. According to officials with the Sheriff’s Office, Ward believed Kramer was responsible for "destroying him."
Deputies with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ward on Wednesday during a traffic stop not far from his home in Forest Park. He’s being held in the Hamilton County Detention Center in Cincinnati, awaiting extradition to Kentucky.
Ward has been charged with two counts of murder.
