LETCHER COUNTY, Ky. (EKB)– One person has died in an apparent house explosion.
EKB News reports it happened late Sunday night in Millstone. Neighbors said that they heard an explosion, a scream, and then another explosion.
Firefighters were called to the scene just after 9 p.m.
The Mayking Fire Department Chief Tony Fugate told EKB News that by the time the crews arrived, the wooden house was engulfed in flames.
The coroner confirms one person is dead, but the body is being sent to Frankfort for a positive identification.
Police have not confirmed whether there was an actual explosion that led to the fire, but arson investigators are looking into what happened.
