The Mayfield Messenger reports here that 61-year-old John "Bill" Hubbard is charged with first-degree reckless endangerment.

According to reports Hubbard’s 32-year-old neighbor told police that he and others were surveying damage done by lava in their subdivision when Hubbard assaulted and then pointed a gun at the man. Hubbard is accused of firing several shots from a handgun. No one was injured in the confrontation.

A video of the incident spread widely on the internet, eventually also running on news shows.

The original Instagram video of the shooting had more than 50,000 hits within hours. The seconds long video, which does not provide context, shows Hubbard firing a handgun and pushing a man, who screams "Are you kidding me?" Hubbard replies "No," and then tells him to get out of there, using an expletive. The man responds, "I live here!" and cringes multiple times, also screaming and using expletives to tell Hubbard to leave.
