CLINTON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police say an inmate escaped the Clinton County Jail late Sunday evening but was quickly taken back into custody.

Authorities say 32-year-old Ryan Tweedy of Paducah escaped the jail about 11:40 p.m.

However, two troopers found Tweedy about an hour later in an abandon truck on U.S. Highway 127.

Tweedy is charged with second-degree escape, first-degree fleeing or evading police, menacing, resisting arrest, receiving stolen property less than $500, second-degree disorderly conduct, second-degree criminal trespassing and public intoxication-controlled substance.

Tweedy was being held in the Clinton County Jail.
