CAMPBELL COUNTY, Ky. (WBIR/LaFollette Press) — A former Henry Clay High School student and Asbury University basketball player drowned Monday afternoon in a Campbell County lake, according to reports.
WBIR reports here that authorities were notified about 1:35 p.m. Monday after a swimmer failed to surface in Norris Lake.
According to a LaFollette Press report, authorities identified the man as 20-year-old Jordan T. Houston, of Lexington.
Houston was listed as a 6-foot-4 forward on the 2016-17 Asbury men’s basketball team.
"The deputies and the LaFollette Rescue Squad arrived on the scene to discover that the swimmer had jumped from a boat," Sheriff’s Office spokesman Darryl Chapman said in a statement.
The LaFollette Rescue Squad found the swimmer’s body. It does not appear that foul play was involved, according to Chapman’s release.
