LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A Lexington father warns women to walk in numbers after he says his daughter was attacked going to her car late last month.

Joe Haskins tells LEX 18 his daughter has been unconscious for nearly two weeks after being violently attacked leaving the Swahili Elks Lodge on Versailles  Road.

He says his daughter, 31-year-old Jenise Haskins, was walking to her car around 1 a.m. in the Aramark parking lot. He believes she was then hit in the back of the head.

Someone found her around 3 a.m. and called for help. She has been at UK Hospital since May 26.

Joe says she has severe brain injuries and because of that she hasn’t been able to talk to police.

Police are investigating and say they are pretty sure this was not random. Right now they’re looking at surveillance video to see who may have attacked her or if she may have fallen. Her father believes she was assaulted.

"It looks like she was hit pretty hard, maybe knocked unconscious, and maybe moved from of of the scrapes on her leg…I don’t know for sure but want to find out."

If you have any information give Lexington police a call.
