SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Firefighters are on the scene of an explosion that led to a house fire in Georgetown.
It happened around 2:25 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Pocahontas Trail and Seminole Trail near Paynes Depot Road.
Officials say the fire was contained quickly, but two neighboring houses received some heat damage.
The Georgetown Fire Chief says investigators have found a deceased victim inside the exploded house. They have not yet determined male or female.
The coroner just arrived on scene a few moments ago.
Neighbors found the homeowner’s dog alive down the road.
