Man Facing Trafficking Charges After Wilmore Traffic Stop

WILMORE, Ky (LEX 18) A man was arrested and is facing trafficking charges after police said they confiscated around 2.6 pounds of suspected cocaine in a traffic stop.

Wilmore Police said in a Facebook post that officers conducted the traffic stop Tuesday around 4:30 p.m. Around 2.6 pounds of suspected cocaine and $1,400 in cash were confiscated. A subsequent search warrant was served at a home on Woodspointe Way that same day. More than 220 pounds of marijuana packaged for resale and around $25,000 in cash were both seized as well as a 2001 Jaguar that the suspect was driving.

Wilmore Police said that the suspect, 29-year-old Jose Edgar Chavez Gomez was arrested for Trafficking in a Controlled Substance and Possession of Paraphernalia.
