LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– Kentucky State Police engaged in a high-speed chase on I-75 that ended in a crash.

It started at mile marker 42 in Laurel County when troopers saw the car driving erratically.

When they attempted to pull the car over, the driver took off at a high rate of speed and kept going.

At mile marker 114 in Lexington, spike strips were deployed which slowed the driver down and then he stopped.

The chase was 70 miles long and reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour.

He was taken into custody without incident. He will be lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

KSP Trooper Purdy said they have K9s on scene and were checking to see if the suspect threw anything out of the vehicle. They found a fake ID.
