Police: Multiple Stores Likely Robbed By Same Masked Man

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A string of robberies at Lexington businesses appear to be connected to the same suspect. Investigators from the Lexington Police Department are investigating five incidents involving a man wearing a camouflage mask, armed with a box cutter.

The most recent robbery occurred Friday, June 1 at the Cash Express located at 671 North Broadway. An unknown white man armed with a box cutter entered the business and demanded money from the registers. He threatened to harm a customer, took cash, and fled down Delcamp Drive.

The suspect is also believed to be responsible for four other incidents:

  • May 5 – Attempted robbery at Family Dollar, 188 E New Circle Rd
  • April 28 – Robbery of Cash Express, 671 N Broadway (same location as June 1 robbery)
  • April 24 – Robbery at Dollar General, 1790 Bryan Station Rd
  • April 20 – Robbery at Dollar General, 2167 N Broadway

Investigators today released video, which includes audio, from the June 1 robbery. Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact Lexington Police by calling (859) 258-3600.
