LINCOLN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– One person has been arrested as the result of the ongoing death investigation by Kentucky State Police.
KSP confirms that 45-year-old Otha G. Wesley is lodged in the Lincoln County Detention Center on Thursday and is charged with Murder, Abuse of a Corpse, and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Rob Oney told the Advocate-Messenger in late May that Wesley was a “suspect” in April Neikirk’s disappearance, “just due to the fact that he was an ex…Of course we have a few other people of interest."
Neikirk was last seen in the Highland/Waynesburg area April 25, but was not officially reported missing until May 11.
At the time of a search conducted on May 15, emergency leaders suspected a murder may have occurred.
Earlier this week, Kentucky State Police were investigating after human remains were found in a wooded area off Kentucky Highway 328.
