LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– The sheriff’s department is investigating a shooting that left one man with a gunshot wound to the face.
It happened early Friday morning off Blackwater Church Road, approximately 11 miles east of London.
Officials say the London St. Joseph Hospital reported a 49-year-old male showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the face around 12:31 a.m.
During the course of their investigation, officials have learned that apparently a disagreement occurred between the victim and 26-year-old Robert T. Smith at his residence off Blackwater Church Road when the shooting occurred.
Smith is wanted on a charge of attempted murder.
He is described as 5’11", 190 pounds, with blue eyes, and brown hair. He is possibly armed with a small caliber pistol.
