BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — Four people are facing drugs and weapons charges after police searched a home in Knox County.

Authorities say Barbourville residents 31-year-old Jessica Cathers, 31-year-old Justin Honeycutt and 33-year-old Kyle Broughton along with 53-year-old Jeffery Powell of Bimble were charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a radio that sends and receives police messages.

Broughton and Powell also are charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to Kentucky State Police, troopers were called to a home for an undisclosed reason. Police say the home’s owner gave troopers consent to search the residence.

KSP says they found about 5 ounces of methamphetamine, thousands of dollars in cash, two handguns, one rifle, a police radio, plastic baggies and a digital scale.

All four suspects were being held in the Knox County Detention Center.
