LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Lexington business was evacuated Monday morning due to a suspected ammonia leak at a plant on Lexington’s northwest side.
Fire officials responded after 6 a.m. to 3M Ceradyne, a facility on 695 Laco Drive.
Authorities evacuated the business and are in the process of trying to find the source of a suspected leak so that it can be shut off.
At 6:28 this morning crews were called out to the 600 block of Laco Dr for the report of an ammonia leak. Crews donning hazmat gear in order to confirm presence of leak. Media staging area in front of jail on Old Frankfort Pike. Follow twitter for more info.
