Police: Son Dead, Father In Custody Following Deadly Shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– Lexington Police are investigating a Father’s Day shooting that left one man dead.

It happened around 5:15 p.m. Sunday on St. Ann Drive.

An arrest citation states 45-year-old James Hendron Jr. allegedly shot and killed his son, 23-year-old Austin Hendron, after an argument in the driveway.

Police say when they arrived on the scene, they found a man who appeared to have a gunshot wound. 

The victim was taken to UK Hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries and later died of multiple gunshot wounds. 

Hendron was booked into the Fayette County Detention Center just before 11:30 p.m. Sunday and charged with murder.
