Western Kentucky University Golf Coach Killed In Tragic Accident

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (LEX 18) – Western Kentucky University Men’s Golf Coach Phillip Hatchett has died after being hit by a car while riding his bicycle.

According to the university’s website 55-year-old phillip hatchet was killed early this morning while he was riding with other cyclists.

Athletics  Director Todd Stewart said, "our hearts are broken following the passing of Phillip Hatchet. He was an outstanding individual in every respect, a kind soul liked and respected by all and someone who cared deeply for his players whom he considered family." 

Hatchett was a 19-85 graduate of Western Kentucky University and spent eight seasons as head coach of the program.
