HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. (The Herald Leader/LEX 18)– The Department of Corrections confirms that the mother up for parole in the murder of her daughter has waived her right to parole and has elected to serve the remainder of her sentence.

The couple sentenced to life in prison for killing their 5-year-old daughter in 1989 were both up for parole. Thomas Suleski and his ex-wife Roxanne have been in prison since 1994 after the murder, burial and later disposal of Alex Suleski’s body.

They received life sentences with the chance of parole after 25 years.

Roxanne Suleski would have had her first parole hearing Tuesday but she opted out of the hearing. She does, however, have the right to change her mind.

Thomas Suleski’s parole hearing will be at the end of the month.
