RICHMOND, Ky. (LEX 18)- After what appeared to be the end of the road from the program, EKU’s music department has announced that the marching band will be back for the 2018-19 school year.

EKU’s music department is recruiting members now. All student participants will receive a stipend. All majors are encouraged to participate.

Earlier this year, EKU cut the band from its budget after funding issues. That did not stop the band department from seeking outside funds to continue the "Marching Colonels" tradition.

The fundraising was successful and now students from all majors and departments can volunteer for the band. They will receive an elective credit and a $500 scholarship.

Students must register for MUS 256. If you are interested, click here.
