LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A missing person’s case in Laurel County has turned into a murder investigation.

58-year old Sherry Rose was last seen leaving her job at Walmart last Tuesday, and overnight her daughter and her daughter’s husband were arrested on murder charges.

According to arrest citations, Christy McFadden and her husband Joseph McFadden admitted to getting in a physical altercation with Christy’s mother.

The citation then goes on to say the mother suffered a stab wound, causing her death.

Monday night, while deputies were still investigating this as a missing person’s case, they confirmed Christy was Rose’s daughter and said she and her husband were persons of interest.

Now they are both charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence, and abuse of a corpse.

Sherry Rose was first considered missing last week when she didn’t show up to work…something neighbors say never happened before.

"She walked to work religiously," said Sandra Tackett, a neighbor. "She was never late, I don’t think. Probably not. Never missed a day. She was just a good person, you know?"

The arrest citations also say the couple purchased materials like mops and bleach to clean up the crime scene, then they drove the victim’s body to a rural location in Laurel County where two other individuals helped dispose of the body.

No word yet on who those other two individuals are.
