LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Four people accused of killing a Laurel County woman pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to their roles in the crime.

Sherry Rose was last seen last Tuesday leaving her job at Walmart. On Monday night her daughter, Christy McFadden, and her daughter’s husband, Joseph McFadden, were arrested on murder charges.

Later, Rose’s ex-boyfriend, Michael Hinkle, and his son, Kody Hinkle, were arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.

Rose’s body was found in a suitcase near the Laurel-Clay county line.

All four defendants had not guilty pleas entered for them.

The four were being held on bail: Christy ($250,000), Joseph ($250,000), Michael ($10,000) and Kody ($10,000).

The Hinkles had an attorney, and the McFaddens will have public defenders assigned to them.

All are due back in court for a preliminary hearing June 26 at 11 a.m.
