Laurel County Man In Custody After Being Indicted In Elderly Mother’s Death

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18)– A London man has been arrested after being indicted on a murder charge.

Larry Dean Hensley was taken into custody around 1:47 p.m. Wednesday afternoon in London. 

Hensley is accused of neglecting his elderly mother so much that she later died.

The indictment states that the grand jury charged him with one count of ‘Knowingly Abusing and/or Neglecting a Vulnerable Adult, Lue Faye Hensley, an adult as defined in KRS 209.020’. The indictment states that the offense listed in that charge happened on or about January 26, 2018.

Police said that the neglect charge was after a welfare check. 

The second count Larry Dean Hensley is facing is Murder by ‘wantonly and manifesting extreme indifference to human life’. The indictment also states he ‘engaged in conduct which created a grave risk of death to another person and thereby caused the death of Lue Faye Hensley’. 

The murder charge is listed on or about March 4, 2018. The coroner ruled her death a homicide due to neglect. Lue Faye Hensley was 81-years-old.
