LEXINGTON, Ky (LEX 18) Wildcat fans are keeping a close eye on the NBA Draft tonight, as five former Kentucky Wildcats eye a spot in the pros.

Kevin Knox & Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will be watching the draft from the green room tonight, meaning they’re safely expected to go in the first round.

Gilgeous-Alexander, who emerged midseason to the lead the Cats at point guard, is being projected as high as the 6th pick to Orlando. Draft experts predict that he is unlikely to fall out of the lottery.

Knox, who led Kentucky in scoring this season with 16 points per game, is projected to go as high as number nine to the New York Knicks or as low as pick number 15.

If Knox and Gilgeous-Alexander are taken in the first round as expected, that will give Coach John Calipari 26 first round players in his first nine seasons at the University of Kentucky.

ESPN is projecting that Hamidou Diallo & Jarred Vanderbilt will be taken in the second round. Their experts do not think that Wenyen Gabriel will be drafted.
