LEXINGTON, Ky (LEX 18) — A crash on Georgetown Road near Berea Road sent three people to the hospital this afternoon.

An SUV was traveling along Georgetown Road when it crossed the center line and hit a trailer, then a pickup truck, according to Lexington Police.

The driver of the SUV was ejected from the vehicle, police said. The driver and two passengers were taken to the hospital. Police believe their injuries are not life-threatening.

The driver of the vehicle pulling the trailer said it was raining heavily at the time of the wreck.

"I’ve never been in anything like this but they say it’s kind of like slow motion, which is true," said Yasir Ahmad. "You just see it coming and there’s not much you can do so you just brace and then when it’s over you just thank God."

His shoulder was sore after the crash, he said, but he was thankful to be walking away from the crash.

Part of Georgetown Road was shut down for about an hour while crews worked to clear the scene.
