Coroner On Scene Of Squires Road Area Accidental Electrocution

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – The coroner is on the scene of an accident in the Squires Road area of Lexington. He tells LEX 18 that a man was electrocuted. 

He said that the property used to be full of old apartment buildings and there was a dump truck filling in a pit. As he was doing that, he raised the back of his truck up, which came into contact with the power lines. 

The man’s dump truck then caught on fire. The coroner said that the man did try to jump out of the truck. 

He said that an autopsy will be performed on the man’s body as it was a work-related death. 

This happened near Squires Road and East Hills.

Due to the accident, there is a large power outage in the Squires Road area of Lexington. Kentucky Utilities is reporting that 2, 204 customers are without power due to a motor vehicle accident.

Police are directing traffic at major intersections.
