LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– Police are searching for a suspect after a Meijer store was robbed.
It happened about 11:45 p.m. at the location on Paul Jones Way in Hamburg.
Police say a man tried to leave the store with merchandise he did not pay for.
When a loss prevention officer tried to stop him, the suspect implied he had a weapon and threatened to shoot.
Police say he left in a gray Ford Taurus. A vehicle matching that description was later found abandoned on I-75.
They’re looking into whether the registered owner is connected to the robbery.
The man is described as a 5’8" black male about 230 pounds in his 40s wearing a black shirt and red shorts.
No one was hurt.
