BARDSTOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) – Despite the collapse of a rickhouse full of bourbon yesterday, the Barton 1792 Distillery will be open for business as usual Saturday.

Nelson County Emergency Management spokesman Milt Spalding says about 9,000 barrels filled with aging bourbon were affected Friday at the Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown. It happened around 11 a.m.

The Distillery posted to their Facebook page, "Thank you, everyone, for your thoughts and sentiments during yesterday’s warehouse collapse. We are very happy that no one was injured in the incident. The Visitor Center plans to reopen for normal tours today at 9 a.m. Please be advised that Warehouse 30, the rack house featured in yesterday’s news, will not be accessible to the public and is not featured on the normal tour route."

Spalding says there were no injuries inside the structure, which was holding about 18,000 barrels. Investigators are trying to determine the safety of the standing portion of the building.
