(Billboard) Drummer Vinnie Paul, the co-founder of metal band Pantera, has died.
Billboard broke the story Friday, saying that Paul’s representative confirmed his death.
Management also posted a statement to his Facebook page which reads, "Vincent Paul Abbott aka Vinnie Paul has passed away. Paul is best known for his work as the drummer in the bands Pantera and Hellyeah. No further details are available at this time. The family requests you please respect their privacy during this time."
Paul formed Pantera in 1981. The band won multiple Grammy nominations during their mainstream success.
Paul was 54.
