Posted

SPRINGFIELD, Ky. (LEX 18) — Springfield police are investigating after a female with a gunshot wound showed up early Sunday morning at an area hospital following reports of gunfire downtown.

Authorities say police received 911 calls about 2:30 a.m. reporting gunshots at 101 W. Main Street. Police say it apparently happened during a private party event.

Police said they later learned a female was taken to Springview Hospital in Lebanon with a non-life-threatening wound, which authorities say was connected to the Main Street shooting.

The investigation continues, and police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call 859-336-5450.

Police also asked anyone who owns a business or works at one near the scene to be on the lookout for bullets or fragments, and to contact police if they come across anything.
