LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — One person was injured and airlifted to an area hospital Monday morning after a car apparently drove off a bridge and crashed into a creek.
The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said the crash occurred about 9 a.m. on Kentucky Highway 80 near Sasser Road.
Authorities say it appeared that only one vehicle with one driver was involved.
The injured person was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Kentucky 80 was down to one lane, but officials expected both lanes to be reopened shortly.
The cause of the crash remains unknown.
