LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A scary situation arose earlier in the week for one Lexington homeowner trying to renovate.
Police say they were called out to a home on Rosemont Garden after construction workers found a live grenade.
Officials say the Hazardous Devices Unit responded, took x-rays and determined it was live ordnance. The grenade, possibly from the WWII era, was remotely placed in a Total Containment Vessel via robot, transported away from the area and detonated without incident.
No word on where it may have come from.
