LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– You might notice on Monday that you’re paying a little more for certain goods and services.
That’s thanks to a new 6 percent state sales tax that went into effect Sunday.
That tax affects things like car repairs, tanning bed visits, veterinary care for small animals, and gym memberships.
Also, non-profits across the state will now add an extra 6 percent for admission to cultural and athletic events, which means you’ll be paying a little more for UK basketball tickets among other things.
