ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) Holiday traffic will continue throughout the week on I-75, but with two fatal accidents in the past two days, drivers say that people need to be careful and slow down, especially in construction zones.

An 11-year-old girl was killed Sunday morning on I-75 in Rockcastle County. In Madison County on Saturday, a truck driver died after running off the roadway.

Two bad accidents in two days concern drivers who travel on the interstate daily.

Doug Proctor, who has lived in Rockcastle County his whole life, said that there’s a lot of people who travel through the area, especially during a holiday week and with a long stretch of construction.

"They’re not paying attention a whole lot. And they are flying, they do fly through there," said Proctor.

KSP tells LEX 18 that there have been eight fatal car wrecks on I-75 in Laurel and Rockcastle Counties  since last July.
